  • Strong proficiency with a modern UI framework such as Angular, React, Vue.js, or Blazor, including performance optimization and component architecture; alternatively, working knowledge with a backend specialization.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and data architecture decisions.
  • Experience delivering complex, multi-system solutions and highly scalable, internet-facing products serving millions of users.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture decisions, technical mentoring, cross-team collaboration, and leading technical initiatives spanning multiple sprints or quarters.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, influencing technology choices, and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Active use of AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows, such as Cursor, Copilot, Devin, or Claude Code, applied critically and responsibly to design, development, testing, and debugging.
  • Advanced observability implementation using Datadog, Application Insights, Amazon CloudWatch, or similar, including performance tuning and cost optimization.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Ability to design CI/CD architectures, deployment strategies, and efficient pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency with SaaS cloud architecture using Azure or AWS services, including infrastructure design and performance tuning.

  • Resilience and adaptability when priorities or commercial commitments change.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, technical leadership, influencing, coaching, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and a willingness to make AI tooling a natural part of day-to-day work.
  • Desirable: experience in regulated or complex domains with audit requirements, such as finance, health, or govtech.
  • Desirable: experience with prompt engineering, token optimization, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.
  • Desirable: advanced monitoring and APM strategies, including custom dashboards and alerting.
  • Desirable: modern UI architecture patterns such as micro-frontends and SSR/SSG; security and compliance practices such as OAuth2, OIDC, and RBAC; event-driven architectures; and DevOps automation.
  • Desirable: advanced Azure or AWS cloud certifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver complex, scalable systems, including multi-service integrations, high-traffic APIs, and data-processing pipelines.
  • Own large features or components throughout their lifecycle, from conception through production support.
  • Make commercially aware technical decisions that balance engineering trade-offs, business commitments, delivery timelines, and customer impact.
  • Lead technical discussions, influence architecture decisions, and make component-level technical choices, escalating cross-team impacts to the Engineering Lead.
  • Establish architectural patterns, standards, and best practices, and ensure documentation and knowledge transfer for owned systems.
  • Promote AI-first ways of working, using tools such as Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code and helping the team adopt them responsibly.
