Enterprise Architect – Modern Workplace

Salary: £64,000 - 104,000 per year

Requirements:

• Enterprise architecture experience spanning the digital workplace, including identity, devices and endpoints, collaboration and productivity, and office, meeting-room, and voice technologies.
• Proven cross-domain architecture leadership across an end-to-end workplace estate at global scale.
• Experience applying architecture frameworks and modelling methods, such as TOGAF, pragmatically.
• Expertise in security-by-design, zero-trust, and data-protection architecture for the workplace.
• Experience with integration and platform architecture across cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, endpoint, and identity ecosystems.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with engineering, vendor, and executive audiences.
• Recognised architecture experience in the relevant domain at enterprise scale.
• Relevant architecture or platform certifications, such as TOGAF or vendor architect certifications.
• A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Ability to set target architecture, standards, and design patterns; design for security, scale, resilience, and total cost of ownership; influence engineering and vendor teams without direct authority; balance strategic ambition with pragmatic decisions; and stay current with platform direction and emerging capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the target-state architecture for our Modern Workplace estate across Identity, Client Devices, Productivity Tools, and Office Technology.
• Set cross-tower architecture principles, standards, reference patterns, and technology roadmaps.
• Serve as the design authority for major and cross-tower workplace changes.
• Architect integration across towers—including identity-led security, devices, collaboration, and meeting-room and voice services—to create a coherent employee experience.
• Embed security-by-design, zero-trust, resilience, accessibility, data protection, and total cost of ownership across every domain.
• Ensure that Kyndryl- and partner-delivered designs and changes align with our architecture, security, resilience, and standards across all four towers.
• Own workplace technology strategy, build-versus-buy decisions, and horizon-scanning for emerging capabilities, including AI in the workplace.
• Advise our Modern Workplace Director and tower heads, aligning architecture with our business and agency priorities.
• Set the architecture, patterns, and guardrails within which Kyndryl implements and operates.
• Act as the approval gate for partner architecture decisions.
