Data & Automation Developer
Job Description
Salary: £37,000 - 41,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven experience in a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Power Platform Developer, or similar role
- Strong Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and dashboard creation
- Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities
- Passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement
- SQL and/or Python experience (desirable)
- API integrations and automation experience (desirable)
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or Copilot Studio (desirable)
- Experience implementing AI solutions within a business environment (desirable)
- Comfortable spending most of the working time in our Dorset office
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Analyse, transform, and visualise data from multiple sources
- Build solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
- Develop automation workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions
- Identify and implement opportunities to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude
- Support data governance, security, and GDPR-compliant data handling
- Explore innovative approaches using AI, automation, and potentially Python-based solutions

We are a growing organisation seeking a Data & Automation Developer to support our digital transformation and AI adoption strategy. Reporting to our IT Director, you will help teams across the business improve decision-making, streamline processes, and unlock the value of data. This is a varied, hands-on role combining data analytics, automation development, and emerging AI technologies, with the opportunity to make an impact across our organisation. The role is primarily office-based in Dorset, with some hybrid flexibility potentially available. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a salary of £37,000–£41,000 depending on experience, a bonus scheme, pension, private medical insurance, opportunities to influence our AI and automation strategy, exposure to cutting-edge technologies and digital transformation projects, and a collaborative environment with direct access to senior leadership.
