Salary: £40,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Ability to deliver complex features end-to-end
• Commitment to clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Experience with or a genuine interest in TDD and XP practices
• Enjoyment of pairing, mentoring and sharing knowledge
• Confidence contributing to technical discussions and challenging existing approaches
• Experience working in collaborative Agile engineering teams
• Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to learn new technologies
• Experience with cloud-native or serverless architectures, AWS, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, or building scalable, secure platforms is advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of features from initial idea through to production
• Develop and maintain large-scale, business-critical systems
• Work collaboratively within a cross-functional Scrum team
• Mentor other Developers, share knowledge and help raise engineering standards
• Contribute ideas and influence technical direction and team practices

We are growing our product suite and hiring three Senior Java Software Engineers for our engineering teams. The team works with Java (JDK 17), Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and DevOps tooling. We support communities of practice, regular knowledge sharing and dedicated innovation days. This remote-first role involves visiting our South Manchester office around once per month. The salary is £60,000–£70,000, plus a bonus and benefits, with opportunities for technical progression, learning and career development, as well as regular team and company events.
