Website Designer

Salary: £30,000 - 30,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Web Designer in a commercial or professional environment.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS sufficient to communicate effectively with developers.
• Strong communication skills for working across different teams.
• Reliable timekeeping and the ability to work 37.5 hours across five days each week.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle regulatory information appropriately.
• Comfortable working predominantly from the office and using modern responsive design techniques.
• Web-related qualifications and evidence of understanding web fundamentals are desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Design responsive web layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Create new designs and layouts as our product and marketing needs evolve.
• Build and maintain reusable design components and a scalable design system.
• Use fluid, reflowing responsive design techniques rather than static breakpoint exports.
• Apply consistent grid systems, spacing scales, and layout standards across designs.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure designs translate accurately into code.
• Conduct user research, wireframing, and prototyping to validate design decisions.
• Maintain consistency with our brand guidelines across web design work.
• Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and complete tasks to a professional standard.
• Contribute to smoother web development workflows, more detailed designs, an improved design process, better-looking web and app products, and continuous design improvements.
