Infrastructure & Operations Engineer

Salary: £44,000 - 84,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of VMware vSphere 8+ / ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
• Knowledge of Windows Server (2003–2022) and Windows Desktop (95–11)
• Basic Linux administration skills, including Red Hat and Ubuntu
• Experience with Cisco networking, including LAN, WAN, VLANs, routing and switching
• Familiarity with enterprise firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, WatchGuard or similar
• Knowledge of network segmentation and IT/OT security best practices
• Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, disaster recovery planning and high-availability solutions
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is advantageous
• Familiarity with Oracle Database; PostgreSQL or MySQL knowledge is desirable
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP and DNS
• Experience with storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel and iSCSI
• Experience managing and maintaining HPE Synergy infrastructure and Nimble Storage technologies
• Knowledge of patch and vulnerability management

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and maintain IT and OT infrastructure solutions supporting business and manufacturing operations
• Design and implement resilient networks, server environments and cloud-based solutions
• Support or lead infrastructure projects from planning through execution while minimizing disruption to production
• Evaluate and integrate technologies to improve efficiency and security
• Provide third-line support for complex technical issues across IT and OT systems
• Help ensure maximum uptime of critical business and manufacturing systems
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot networks, servers and security appliances
• Maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies to support business continuity
• Use the service management tool, such as ServiceNow, to record, update and manage incidents
• Implement and maintain GxP-compliant IT infrastructure in a regulated pharmaceutical environment
• Ensure CFR Part 11 and data integrity requirements are met across IT and OT systems
• Apply cybersecurity best practices, including network segmentation, vulnerability patching and Zero Trust principles
