Security Engineer III

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in security engineering concepts, with proficient applied experience
• Experience in cloud engineering, deployment engineering, DevOps engineering, or an equivalent field
• Specific experience deploying commercial software at scale in an enterprise environment
• Demonstrated ability to plan, design, and implement enterprise-level security solutions
• Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux system internals
• Strong experience defining and implementing infrastructure as code (IaC), working with CI/CD pipelines, and using associated automation tooling
• Commanding knowledge of a programming or scripting language for automation and integration tasks
• Proficiency in all aspects of the software development life cycle
• Proficiency in cloud technologies, such as AWS security
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to solve complex challenges
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Preferred: Cloud computing certifications with an AWS focus, such as Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications
• Preferred: Experience communicating effectively with senior business leaders

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions for an enterprise-scale environment
• Understand the functions of systems engineering, systems integration, and systems administration roles
• Execute key deliverables in security engineering
• Design and develop production deployments, thinking beyond routine or conventional approaches to deliver technology solutions for key stakeholders
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
• Implement complex business logic using Python, Bash, PowerShell, and other scripting languages
• Engage effectively with third-party vendors and collaborate with a broad range of internal teams
• Minimize security vulnerabilities by applying industry insights and government regulations, continuously evolving security protocols, and creating processes to assess the effectiveness of current controls
• Work with stakeholders and business leaders to understand security needs and recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability
