Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in a 2nd Line or Senior IT Support position
• Good understanding of Microsoft technologies
• Microsoft Azure
• Microsoft 365
• Active Directory / Entra ID
• Windows Server
• Exposure to virtualisation technologies
• Networking fundamentals

Responsibilities:

• Supporting and maintaining Microsoft Azure environments
• Monitoring systems, backups and infrastructure alerts
• Supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Windows environments
• Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues
• Managing user access, MFA and security controls
• Supporting patching and vulnerability management
• Setting up and managing laptops, devices and other IT equipment
• Assisting with cloud migrations and infrastructure projects
• Maintaining technical documentation and processes
• Working alongside experienced engineers and gradually taking ownership of more infrastructure

We are a business in Ipswich with an expanding technical team, offering a varied, hands-on Junior Infrastructure Engineer role. This position provides exposure across cloud infrastructure, Microsoft technologies, security and wider infrastructure projects, with the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and continue developing technical skills. The role may suit someone currently at Senior 2nd Line level who is ready to progress into a 3rd Line / Infrastructure Engineer position and take on greater responsibility as they grow.
