ServiceNow ITOM Consultant

Salary: £117,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven delivery experience as a ServiceNow ITOM consultant, with Event Management as a genuine specialism.
• Hands-on integration experience with Splunk and AppDynamics as event sources feeding ServiceNow.
• Strong working knowledge of the wider ITOM suite: CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, MID Servers and event connectors.
• Confidence running client workshops and holding a room of operational stakeholders.
• Genuinely hands-on technical ability, comfortable configuring and scripting in the platform yourself.
• Consultancy or systems integrator background, with client-facing judgement.
• Other monitoring and observability tooling feeding into Event Management, such as SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Datadog, Zabbix, Nagios, SCOM or similar, would help.
• ServiceNow certifications, particularly CIS-Event Management, CIS-Discovery or CIS-Service Mapping, would help.
• Broader AIOps and event correlation platform exposure, and experience in a regulated or high-availability environment, would help.
• ITIL-aligned service operations experience, and the ability to write documentation and handover material a client can actually use, would help.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement ServiceNow Event Management, including event ingestion, alert rules, correlation and de-duplication, and alert aggregation.
• Turn raw event noise into actionable, prioritised alerts that operations teams actually trust.
• Bring monitoring estates into ServiceNow, with Splunk and AppDynamics as key sources.
• Work with CMDB, Discovery and Service Mapping so alerts map to real services and impact.
• Run requirement-gathering and design workshops with client stakeholders.
• Translate operational pain into a technical design and take people with you through the decisions.
• Configure, script and build in the platform.
• Support a delivery role with a consulting front end, working client-facing from day one.

We are supporting a specialist AIOps and service management consultancy on an exclusive basis with a hands-on ServiceNow ITOM contract focused on Event Management. This is a six-month initial contract with a strong view to extend, offering a competitive day rate that is negotiable depending on experience. We are looking for someone who will be trusted in front of the client, running workshops, shaping the design and then building what was agreed. The working pattern, location and IR35 status will be confirmed on application.
