Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £39,000 - 79,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree or higher in an analytical subject such as Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, or Physics.
• We require 10+ years of professional programming experience in C++ or C#.
• We require experience using Linux and developing software that runs on Linux.
• We require an understanding of virtual machines and containerisation technologies, with experience using Docker.
• We value the ability to learn new languages quickly.
• Advantageous skills include familiarity with Kubernetes, Windows development, data science or AI, networking protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP, cryptography, audio and video coding and processing technologies such as Opus or H.264, and Git, DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities:

• We design, develop, test, and deliver new features and improvements in an agile team.
• We help manage the operational side of our highly available microservice architecture.
• We take part in an on-call rotation.
• We tackle varied and challenging problems with flexibility and a data-driven focus on quality.
• We build new functionality, develop automated tests, and investigate issues with strong attention to detail.
• We use AI tools in our daily workflow to improve productivity and apply AI in new scenarios and opportunities.
• We learn quickly and grow our skills with mentorship and formal training from our team.
