Lead Full Stack Software Engineer - React & Java

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
• Experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption of AI tools within delivery practices
• Interest in or awareness of AI advancements and their practical applications in software engineering
• Proven experience fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, mentorship, and professional development within a team setting

Responsibilities:

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting using approaches beyond routine or conventional methods
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems
• Lead evaluation sessions with internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented discussions on architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability within existing systems and information architecture
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Establish consistent validation standards such as secure coding, peer review, and automated testing
• Promote reuse of effective patterns across the team
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
