Senior Azure Platform Engineer - Farnborough

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require strong experience in Azure Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or a similar role.
• We require proven experience operating as an Azure SME, Senior Engineer, or Architect.
• We require hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure Landing Zones.
• We require a strong understanding of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
• We require Azure architecture experience across platform, networking, governance, and security.
• We highly value Azure certifications, ideally AZ-104 and AZ-305.
• We require strong Azure networking expertise, including ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, VPN Gateways, BGP, Private Endpoints, and NSGs.
• We require strong Kubernetes and AKS experience.
• We require experience with Terraform and HashiCorp tooling.
• We require CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
• We require excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• We consider multi-cloud exposure, JFrog tooling experience, and experience within secure or regulated environments to be desirable.

Responsibilities:

• We design, build, and evolve secure Azure cloud platforms.
• We lead the implementation of Azure Landing Zones aligned to Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework best practice.
• We act as an Azure SME, providing technical leadership and architectural guidance.
• We design and support Azure services including AKS, networking, storage, databases, and application gateways.
• We manage hybrid connectivity using ExpressRoute, VPNs, BGP, and Azure Virtual WAN.
• We drive platform security using Azure Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, RBAC, and governance controls.
• We build scalable Kubernetes environments and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• We use Terraform and Infrastructure as Code to automate cloud delivery.
• We support platform observability, monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement.
• We collaborate with engineering teams, stakeholders, and architects to deliver robust cloud solutions.

We are hiring a Senior Azure Platform Engineer / Azure SME to join our growing engineering team delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions within a highly regulated MOD/Defence environment. This is a hybrid role based in Farnborough, with 2 to 3 days on site.
