Staff Software Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience as a Staff Software Engineer or senior technical leader
• Solid understanding of Agile development and modern engineering practices
• Collaborative approach with clear communication skills
• Expertise in CI/CD, configuration management, and release engineering
• Deep experience with relational database design and data modeling
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Understanding of secure software development principles
• Experience building resilient, production-ready systems
• Strong system design and architectural skills
• Familiarity with Git-based source control and branching strategies

Responsibilities:

• Own the design and development of sophisticated, high-performance software systems
• Shape architectural direction ensuring scalability, security, and resilience
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers
• Strengthen Agile practices and improve value delivery
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for reliable releases
• Guide configuration and release processes for smooth deployments
• Mentor engineers and encourage knowledge sharing
• Design and optimize relational databases and data models
• Automate workflows using scripting languages
• Support service operations by enhancing monitoring and incident response
• Lead system design discussions aligned with enterprise architecture
• Promote secure development practices
• Contribute to project planning, progress tracking, and delivery
