Software Tester

Salary: £35,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience in manual software testing
• Experience testing web-based applications
• Experience testing Windows or desktop applications
• Understanding of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies
• Ability to write clear, structured test cases
• Experience documenting and communicating defects
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tools would be advantageous
• Basic knowledge of databases, data validation or report testing would be beneficial
• Any knowledge of a programming or scripting language would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Review user stories, change requirements and acceptance criteria
• Create and execute manual test cases
• Test web applications, Windows applications and system reports
• Complete functional, regression, smoke and exploratory testing
• Identify, document and track software defects
• Work closely with developers to support defect resolution
• Retest fixes and validate completed changes
• Support testing activity throughout agile sprint cycles
• Maintain test documentation, results and quality records
• Help improve testing processes and quality standards
• Work four days per week from our Newcastle office, with one day working from home
• Travel to development sites and regional offices as required
