Senior Kotlin/JVM Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Kotlin or JVM-based engineering experience, with willingness to work in Kotlin
• Ability to write simple, clean code
• Experience and understanding of databases; relational databases are required and NoSQL is a plus
• Ability to quickly understand complex financial business domains
• Ability to rapidly understand different software architectures
• Understanding of abstraction and interpolation
• Ability to write comprehensive automated tests at all levels of the testing pyramid
• Understanding of the Kanban agile methodology is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively, build relationships, and communicate effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and a rational, pragmatic approach to trade-offs between code quality and delivery

Responsibilities:

• Build and integrate new APIs
• Tune existing services as they scale
• Support the expansion of new products and supporting services in the US
• Contribute to collaborative design discussions and help shape elegant solutions to complex engineering challenges
• Bring new knowledge, experience, and perspective to the team
• Deliver idiomatic solutions in Kotlin or Java
• Work closely with stakeholders from across the business
• Collaborate with peers to improve team capabilities and maintain a happy, productive engineering environment
