Python Software Engineer

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and hands-on applied experience.
• We have practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We are proficient in one or more programming languages.
• We have experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large-scale environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
• We have a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• We understand agile methodologies such as continuous integration and continuous delivery, application resiliency, and security.
• We have demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, Databricks, PySpark, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• We have hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and can critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• We understand responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.

Responsibilities:

• We execute software solutions across design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to build innovative solutions and solve complex technical problems.
• We create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with appropriate systems.
• We produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met throughout software development.
• We gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• We proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• We contribute to software engineering communities of practice and participate in events exploring new and emerging technologies.
• We foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect through active collaboration and engagement.
• We leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• We apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
