Platform Engineer - Open Source Kubernetes

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift
• Excellent Kubernetes expertise
• Proven experience in platform engineering or infrastructure build
• Experience working in enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
• Ability to contribute quickly with minimal ramp-up
• Experience working in fast-paced, evolving technology environments
• Ansible and infrastructure automation experience is desirable
• Networking knowledge, particularly for platform infrastructure and future upgrades, is desirable
• Broader infrastructure and platform engineering experience is desirable
• Experience delivering infrastructure transformation or modernisation programmes is desirable
• Certifications and formal degrees are not essential; hands-on experience and delivery capability are more important

Responsibilities:

• Support the build and deployment of a new on-premises private cloud platform
• Work with bare-metal Red Hat OpenShift
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers and delivery teams
• Help turn the platform vision into a scalable, modern infrastructure service
• Contribute as a hands-on technical engineer on a major infrastructure transformation programme
• Help accelerate delivery and increase team capacity within a small specialist function
• Support the delivery of a new internal hosting platform and broader infrastructure modernisation

We are hiring a Senior Platform Engineer for a 6-month contract, based in London or Manchester with hybrid working and around 2 days onsite, ideally Tuesdays. You will join a major enterprise infrastructure transformation programme, helping us build a new internal hosting platform and modernise and consolidate enterprise infrastructure onto a next-generation technology stack. Our team is small, busy and specialist, so your experience will make an immediate impact as we accelerate delivery.
