Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require 4+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, including advanced support and implementation in regulated or financial environments.
  • We need a strong understanding of network principles, design, operational environments, and compliance requirements.
  • We require proven experience with complex incident resolution, change management, and performance optimisation.
  • We need experience with data centre network technologies and cloud and security services, including Azure, AWS, load balancing, and DNS.
  • We require familiarity with ITSM workflows, SDWAN/VPN concepts, and ServiceNow.
  • We need experience with SASE management such as Fortinet or Netskope.
  • We require fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to produce audit-ready documentation and communicate confidently with senior and executive stakeholders.
  • We consider hands-on provisioning and troubleshooting with voice technologies such as Avaya and Cisco Call Manager highly desirable.
  • We consider relevant certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE5/7, Meraki ECMS2, and F5 highly desirable.
  • We consider experience in managed service or telecom environments, especially supporting financial services clients, highly desirable.
  • We consider experience with SolarWinds, Infoblox, Zero-Touch Deployment, and automation tools highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • We diagnose and resolve complex incidents across SDWAN, WAN, LAN/WLAN, VPN/SASE, and load-balancing platforms while ensuring compliance with financial services regulations.
  • We implement network configuration changes using approved templates and security baselines, maintaining audit trails.
  • We validate device configurations, firmware posture, and compliance with golden standards and sector-specific requirements.
  • We support onboarding of new sites and services using Zero-Touch Provisioning and Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines.
  • We manage routing policies, QoS, wireless performance tuning, and load balancer configuration updates.
  • We collaborate with vendor management teams on escalated transport or device issues, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
  • We contribute to CMDB enrichment through topology validation and asset reconciliation.
  • We support automated impact assessments and change risk analysis, with a focus on operational resilience.
  • We participate in continuous service improvement initiatives, including monitoring optimisation and capacity analysis.
  • We provide technical guidance and mentoring to Level 2 engineers.
  • We ensure all network operations adhere to financial services regulations and frameworks such as FCA, PRA, DORA, ISO 27001, and SOC.
  • We maintain documentation and audit trails for all changes, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • We support risk assessments, compliance reviews, and operational audits as required.
  • We integrate regulatory requirements and security controls into network designs and operations.
  • We maintain accurate incident, request, and change records in ServiceNow.
  • We produce and present operational reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal and customer stakeholders, highlighting compliance, risk management, and performance.
  • We support governance initiatives including process improvement, risk analysis, and post-implementation reviews.
