Data Engineer

Salary: £68,000 - 108,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer.
• We need expert knowledge of Snowflake.
• We need strong experience with DBT.
• We need data modelling experience, including dimensional modelling and star schemas.
• We need experience working with time-series data.
• We need experience integrating and managing market data feeds or financial datasets.
• We need strong SQL and analytical problem-solving skills.
• We need Financial Services experience, ideally within Wealth Management, Asset Management or Investment Management.
• We need excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• It is highly desirable that you have experience with portfolio suitability, portfolio risk, investment analytics or investment data platforms.
• It is highly desirable that you have exposure to modern AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Snowflake Cortex AI or similar.
• It is highly desirable that you have experience within modern cloud-native data platforms and DevOps practices.
• It is highly desirable that you have GitHub Enterprise or similar source control experience.

Responsibilities:

• We will design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and DBT.
• We will build high-quality data models, including dimensional and star schema models.
• We will engineer solutions supporting complex investment and portfolio data.
• We will work with market data platforms and external data feeds.
• We will develop solutions for time-series datasets and analytical workloads.
• We will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• We will contribute to the ongoing evolution of our cloud data platform.
• We will support the adoption of modern engineering practices, automation and AI-assisted development tools.
• We will champion best practice around data quality, governance and performance optimisation.
