AV/IT Support Technician
Job Description
Salary: £29,000 - 32,000 per year
Requirements:- Approximately 18 months of practical experience working with AV equipment
- Experience with sound, projection, and video systems
- Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV equipment
- Experience providing IT support within a Microsoft Windows environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Intune
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm and solutions-focused approach when working under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and attention to detail
- Genuine passion for AV and technology
- Industry-recognised AV or IT qualifications such as CTS, Microsoft, or CompTIA A+ would be beneficial but are not essential
- Employment is subject to an enhanced DBS check and safer recruitment checks
- Liaise with event organisers to understand AV requirements
- Set up and operate sound, projection, and video equipment
- Ensure AV equipment is working correctly before and during events
- Troubleshoot faults and arrange repairs when required
- Support users with the operation of AV equipment
- Maintain AV equipment within the schools main hall and classrooms
- Resolve first-line IT support tickets
- Provide technical support to teachers, staff, and pupils
- Install software and upgrade existing applications
- Test and repair laptops, desktops, and other IT equipment
- Support the maintenance of the schools network

- Ensure equipment and systems are safe for pupil use

We are recruiting an AV/IT Support Technician on behalf of a highly regarded education technology provider for a full-time, permanent role based at an independent school in South East London. This is a varied, hands-on position combining AV support for school events with wider IT support across the school. We offer a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:45am to 4:15pm, 22 days annual leave, access to excellent training and professional development, and strong opportunities for career progression. The role includes attendance at up to 25 evening events per year, with adjusted hours or time off in lieu, and a term-time-only arrangement plus two additional weeks may also be considered.
