Data Scientist, Manager, Digital Innovation
Job Description
Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong understanding of statistical modelling and supervised/unsupervised machine learning algorithms.
- Ability to explain models to non-technical audiences, with a focus on interpretability and audit best practices.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Proficiency in Python, including NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Hands-on experience experimenting with Generative AI tools such as LangChain, Hugging Face, or LlamaIndex.
- Experience working with Azure data and AI services such as Azure Machine Learning and Foundry.
- Practical experience working in Agile environments and contributing to sprints, stand-ups, and backlog refinement.
- Experience writing clear, well-structured documentation for models and analytical workflows.
- Familiarity with version control, especially Git, and collaborative coding practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Evidence of applying R&D theoretical concepts to business scenarios.
- Desirable: Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100) certification or equivalent.
- Desirable: Strong understanding of MLOps and DevOps concepts, including model versioning, CI/CD, automated retraining, lineage, and governance.
- Desirable: Experience with model risk management, Responsible AI, and compliance controls in regulated industries.
- Desirable: Knowledge of model evaluation, testing, and reliability checks.
- Desirable: Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Desirable: Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Desirable: Experience deploying models into production using Azure services.
- Desirable: Exposure to data engineering fundamentals such as data pipelines and delta lake.
- Desirable: Knowledge of experience tracking tools such as MLflow and Azure ML tracking.
- Proactively source external structured and unstructured datasets to enhance services and insights.
- Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results from a business-centric perspective.
- Build innovative models to classify and predict tax and legal data using state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning techniques.
- Design, build, and test reliable, scalable, and easily deployable data pipelines for machine learning.
- Take ownership of models from initial build through maintenance, reducing performance drift over time.
- Constantly track model performance.
- Clearly articulate the value and benefits of analytics projects to clients.
- Work closely with Tax and Legal SMEs to understand business and client challenges and support proof-of-concept development.
- Share, communicate, and develop bespoke AI solutions.
- Drive automation and optimisation of business workflows to help clients improve efficiency.
