Storage and Backup Engineer

Requirements:

• Active SC Clearance
• Strong experience administering enterprise storage infrastructure
• Experience with SAN and NAS technologies
• Knowledge of storage replication, backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Experience supporting critical production environments with high availability requirements
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem and Change Management
• Experience working within secure and highly regulated environments
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Highly desirable: Dell PowerStore
• Highly desirable: Dell VNX
• Highly desirable: Brocade SAN Switches

Responsibilities:

• Administer enterprise SAN and NAS storage environments
• Perform storage provisioning, allocation and capacity management activities
• Monitor and optimise storage performance and availability
• Manage storage replication, backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Support firmware upgrades, maintenance activities and infrastructure changes
• Investigate and resolve complex storage-related incidents and problems
• Work closely with Wintel, Linux, Database and Application teams
• Produce and maintain operational documentation, technical standards and runbooks
• Support change management and governance processes

We are recruiting for an experienced Storage & Backup Engineer to join a high-profile Ministry of Justice programme. This is a fully remote contract opportunity supporting critical national infrastructure within a secure and highly regulated environment. The role is a 4-month contract, inside IR35, with a rate of up to £622 per day. You will be working on enterprise-scale infrastructure and gain exposure to a highly secure environment.
