Senior Platform Engineer (Azure)

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and Kubernetes, ideally AKS, within Azure cloud environments
• Strong experience with GitHub, including GitHub Actions and workflow automation to support CI/CD practices
• Solid understanding of containerisation, modern DevOps and GitOps practices, including tools such as ArgoCD
• Proficiency in Linux systems and scripting, with Bash or Shell experience and Python considered an advantage
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, load balancing and cloud security principles
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and exposure to API-driven automation or configuration management tools such as Ansible
• Proven track record of 5+ years in DevOps, Platform or Cloud Engineering roles, contributing to shared platforms and working across cross-functional teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement in Agile environments

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and operate central platform services including GitHub, Kubernetes, ArgoCD and CI/CD tooling
• Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform to deliver scalable, secure and consistent cloud environments
• Support application teams with onboarding to shared platform services through guidance, enablement and hands-on collaboration
• Develop reusable GitHub Actions, automation frameworks and CI/CD workflows to improve engineering efficiency
• Manage and enhance Kubernetes-based platforms to maintain performance, resilience and scalability
• Promote GitOps practices and automated deployment strategies to improve software delivery
• Troubleshoot complex platform, infrastructure and networking issues using logs, monitoring tools and system diagnostics
• Mentor engineers, share best practice and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
