GCP Solution Architect

Salary: £80,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience working as a Solution Architect within API-first, digital platform, marketplace or multi-tenant environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with GCP technologies such as GKE, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage and Apigee.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, API security, versioning, lifecycle management and API gateways.
• Experience with API management platforms such as Apigee, Kong, IBM API Connect or Azure API Management.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, microservices, event-driven architecture and domain-driven design.
• Understanding of hybrid cloud, CI/CD, cybersecurity, resilience and sustainability principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to influence architectural strategy and make complex technical recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Own and drive architectural decisions across our API Marketplace platform.
• Define the strategic technology roadmap alongside our product and engineering teams.
• Design scalable, secure and resilient cloud-native solutions using Google Cloud Platform.
• Lead API architecture and promote best practices around API design, security, lifecycle management and integration.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture forums, governance and design reviews.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technology solutions.
• Assess emerging technologies, including Generative AI, where they can add value.
• Ensure solutions meet key non-functional requirements including security, performance, resilience, scalability and sustainability.
• Influence strategic technology decisions and help shape the future direction of our platform.
