Senior Data Scientist

Salary: £15,000 - 20,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with 5 years of experience, including taking AI/ML projects into production.
• We need someone who can understand, describe and apply a range of data science techniques to real-world problems.
• We need experience in managing data and implementing data science processes.
• We need experience translating customer requirements into technical requirements and development objectives.
• We need strong Python expertise, including NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Flask or FastAPI, and visualisation tools such as Dash, Plotly and Streamlit.
• We need proficiency in SQL.
• We need experience working with unstructured data.
• We need the ability to build customer and stakeholder relationships.
• We need experience supporting and leading technical report writing and presenting to customers.
• We need a willingness to travel across the UK and work away from home for periods of time.
• We need knowledge of software engineering principles, including git, docker and TTD.
• We prefer experience with secure, air-gapped systems.
• We would love a strong STEM or computing background.
• We would value knowledge and understanding of UK Defence.
• We would value experience in one or more of LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI such as LangGraph, Computer Vision, or AI for audio and speech.
• Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
• Candidates must be willing to undergo an internal baseline personnel security standard check before starting.
• Candidates must be willing and eligible to complete UK Security Vetting at Security Check level upon starting.
• To gain SC clearance, candidates normally need at least 5 years of UK residency.

• We lead and deliver technical consulting projects.
• We develop and deliver AI and ML solutions using a range of techniques, including ML, NLP and LLMs, to tackle real-world problems.
• We apply tools and techniques and develop novel approaches where required.
• We build new relationships and maintain current customer relationships.
• We assess, analyse and meet client-specific needs across a diverse range of industries, including the UK MOD.
• We design solutions for complex challenges.
• We integrate code with software engineers.
• We provide advice around innovation and new techniques to stakeholders.
• We author technical reports and present findings to customers.
