Java Full Stack Developer

Salary: £18,000 - 29,500 per year

Requirements:

• We require extensive hands-on Java 8+ server-side development experience with strong Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• We require a strong understanding of microservice architecture.
• We require experience building REST web services and APIs.
• We require a strong understanding of unit and integration testing, following TDD/BDD.
• We require experience using test frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, PowerMockito, and WireMock.
• We require experience with CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
• We require experience with front-end technologies including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and Mustache templates.
• We require experience leading Java development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• We require experience designing and developing Java applications, APIs, and microservices.
• We require experience collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless integration of software components.
• We require experience conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• We require experience participating in architectural and design discussions.
• We require experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
• We require experience mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance.
• We require the ability to take ownership of scrum team timelines and deliverables.
• We require the ability to propose solutions to complex problems within existing system architecture boundaries.
• We require the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• We require understanding of Agile ceremonies.
• We require experience with relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL.
• Nice to have: knowledge of workflow or business process management tools.
• Nice to have: experience with performance and monitoring tools such as JMeter, Kibana, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
• Nice to have: experience writing shell scripts.

We are Mastek, delivering a high-profile programme for a central government department focused on the next generation of the UKs biometric capability, replacing and integrating legacy systems and other government departments. This is a permanent Java Full Stack Developer role based in Reading, UK, with a hybrid working pattern that requires travel to our Reading office one to two days per week.
