Lead Java Engineer

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Skilled in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Experience with Java and Oracle is preferred
• Familiarity with messaging platforms such as RMQ and Kafka is preferred
• Knowledge of Kubernetes is preferred
• Experience with ReactJS and JavaScript is preferred
• Functional knowledge of FX or derivatives settlements domain is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Execute creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams
• Drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs and technical credentials
• Lead communities of practice across software engineering
• Promote awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
