  • Expert knowledge of Python, including the ability to make and justify design decisions in code such as packaging, testing, and config-driven pipelines.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL, with the ability to write, debug, and optimise complex warehouse queries.
  • Hands-on experience shipping and operating predictive ML models or recommendation systems in production end to end.
  • Experience with feature pipelines, ML-ready training and scoring datasets, model registries, batch or real-time inference, monitoring, and data-quality checks.
  • Strong understanding of model selection, including when to use gradient boosting, neural networks, linear models, or blended approaches.

  • Proficient understanding of statistics, including sample size, variance, multiple comparisons, and Bayesian reasoning.
  • Ability to measure incremental impact of ML models and CRM interventions and translate results into business decisions.
  • Structured, data-driven approach with end-to-end ownership and the ability to define where and how a model fits into the stack.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain model choices, uncertainty, and trade-offs to non-DS stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate beyond the direct team, shape design decisions, mentor others, and lead cross-functional projects through to delivery.
  • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with sequential or deep-learning recommender models.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with uplift modelling and conditional average treatment effects.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, AWS, Airflow, and Trino or data lake stacks.
  • Nice-to-have: prior CRM, marketing, or e-commerce ML experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain the data pipelines and ML-ready tables that power feature generation, model training, inference, and impact measurement.
  • Own data quality, reproducibility, and training-serving consistency.
  • Identify the biggest opportunities for growth and personalisation across the customer lifecycle, including onboarding, engagement, activation, and retention.
  • Own predictive, uplift, or recommendation models that decide what to recommend and who to talk to.
  • Model customer behaviour, product-usage patterns, and CRM engagement to identify churn risk, next-best-product opportunities, and campaign value.
  • Partner closely with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and CRM Campaign Managers to translate models into actionable levers.
  • Build or maintain production models, run experiments, evaluate new ideas, and communicate what models can and cannot tell us about CRM-driven growth.
  • Help ship models that reach customers through CRM campaigns and personalisation surfaces.
  • Form opinions on where Data Science creates the most value and drive the necessary actions to deliver impact.
  • Work autonomously and help shape a vision with the team.
