Front End Developer - London

Requirements:

• We require current DV Security Clearance.
• We require the ability to work onsite at our MOD location in London four days per week.
• We require previous experience delivering within MOD, Defence, Defence Intelligence, Strategic Command, National Security, or similarly secure environments.
• We require strong commercial React development experience.
• We require strong TypeScript capability.
• We require experience consuming REST APIs and collaborating closely with backend engineering teams.
• We require experience building responsive, accessible, and maintainable user interfaces.
• We require a good understanding of component-based development and design system principles.
• We require experience using Git within agile delivery environments.
• We require comfort working with OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE and classified material where authorised.

Responsibilities:

• We develop and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
• We build reusable UI components aligned with a coherent design system and component library.
• We work closely with UX Designers to translate user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes into production-ready interfaces.
• We integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, workflow services, and identity/access mechanisms.
• We develop role-aware dashboards, task views, status tracking, and operational work queues.
• We apply accessibility, responsive design, and usability best practices.
• We participate in agile ceremonies, sprint delivery, demonstrations, and user feedback sessions.
• We contribute to frontend testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

We are delivering an AI-enabled Defence Intelligence capability designed to improve visibility of operational information, reduce administrative burden, and support faster, more informed decision-making. You will join an agile, multidisciplinary team building modern frontend applications that integrate with secure backend services and existing Defence platforms. This is a highly secure Defence environment with a practical focus on secure-by-design delivery, audit, traceability, access control, and assurance. The role offers a rate of £500-£540 per day outside IR35, is based in London at an MOD site, and requires four days onsite per week.
