Boundary Managed Service Lead

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require at least 10 years of boundary security or network security experience.
• We require at least 4 years managing boundary security operations or managed security services.
• We require strong experience in defence, aerospace, or government security programmes.
• We require demonstrated expertise with boundary security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection.
• We require a track record of managing security operations teams and delivering managed services.
• We require expert-level knowledge of firewall technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and DDoS mitigation.
• We require a strong understanding of network security architecture and boundary security design.
• We require proficiency in security incident investigation and threat analysis.
• We require knowledge of security event management, SIEM, and log analysis.
• We require understanding of vulnerability assessment and remediation processes.
• We require familiarity with MOD security requirements, Classification Guides, and defence standards.
• We require knowledge of managed service delivery models and SLA management.
• We require exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
• We require outstanding customer engagement and communication skills.
• We require strong decision-making under pressure, particularly during security incidents.
• We require a detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on SLA compliance.
• We require a commitment to security excellence and continuous improvement.
• Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, or equivalent enterprise firewall experience is desirable.
• Experience with DDoS protection and advanced threat protection platforms is desirable.
• CISSP or CCNP Security certification is desirable.
• An Armed Forces or military operations background is desirable.
• Experience managing high-security managed services contracts is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• We oversee end-to-end boundary managed service delivery, including design, implementation, and operations.
• We manage boundary security SLAs, ensuring compliance with availability, performance, and security targets.
• We lead the boundary security operations team, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring and threat detection.
• We manage boundary service P&L and resource allocation across multiple customer accounts.
• We establish and maintain boundary service quality standards and operational procedures.
• We design and implement boundary security architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and DDoS protection.
• We architect boundary security solutions aligned with MOD security requirements and defence standards.
• We design boundary traffic inspection, content filtering, and advanced threat protection.
• We lead boundary security assessments and vulnerability remediation.
• We implement MOD-compliant boundary configurations and security baselines.
• We lead boundary security incident detection, investigation, and response.
• We manage security alerts, anomaly investigation, and threat escalation.
• We coordinate incident response across the boundary security team and customer security teams.
• We conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventative measures.
• We maintain security event logs and provide compliance reporting to MOD.
• We evaluate and implement boundary security technologies and tools.
• We design automation and orchestration for boundary security operations.
• We lead service improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
• We manage technology refresh and boundary appliance upgrades.
• We develop boundary security monitoring and reporting dashboards.
• We lead and develop boundary security operations teams.
• We manage customer relationships and provide executive-level reporting on boundary security posture.
• We conduct customer reviews and communicate security recommendations.
• We identify service expansion opportunities and support account growth.
• We ensure boundary services maintain compliance with MOD security standards and regulatory requirements.
• We implement and maintain security event logging and audit capabilities.
• We support security compliance assessments and third-party audits.
• We manage personnel vetting compliance for the boundary security team.
