Backend Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £90,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience developing backend software using Python, alongside experience with languages such as Java, Go, Kotlin, C++ or similar
• Commercial experience with TypeScript
• Experience building and operating applications within AWS/GCP environments
• Strong understanding of scalable system design and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices
• Experience building resilient, cloud-native, enterprise-grade applications

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of key platform components from design through to deployment, optimisation and ongoing support
• Design, build and scale backend services that power an AI-driven platform
• Solve complex engineering challenges around scalability, performance and reliability
• Design distributed systems and build resilient enterprise-grade software
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to shape technical roadmaps and influence architecture decisions
• Contribute to the long-term evolution of the platform
• Deliver high-quality, resilient software and improve engineering processes and tooling
• Drive best practice across development, testing, deployment and monitoring
