Data Engineer

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for a Data Engineer with 3-5 years of commercial experience in data engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake is essential.
• Experience working within an SME environment is required.
• Experience in the fashion, sportswear, retail, ecommerce, or consumer goods sector is highly advantageous.
• Strong SQL development and database optimisation skills are required.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, Azure Data Factory, or Airflow.
• Experience working with Azure cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with Python or Scala for data processing and automation.
• Experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and modern data architecture.
• Experience integrating APIs and third-party SaaS platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and business teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• We are also open to strong Junior Data Engineers with relevant Snowflake exposure and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• We will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes within a modern cloud data environment.
• We will develop and optimise data solutions using Snowflake to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence needs.
• We will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data solutions across ecommerce, merchandising, supply chain, marketing, and customer data.
• We will engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• We will integrate data from multiple sources including ERP, CRM, ecommerce, marketing, and third-party platforms.
• We will ensure data quality, governance, security, and integrity across our data estate.
• We will build and maintain data models to support reporting and self-service analytics.
• We will optimise Snowflake performance, warehouse usage, and cost efficiency.
• We will support and improve our Azure cloud-based data infrastructure and orchestration processes.
• We will troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to data pipelines and platform performance.
• We will contribute to best practices around CI/CD, automation, testing, and documentation within our data engineering function.
• We will work within an agile environment, supporting ongoing transformation and data modernisation initiatives.
