UX Designer
Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience creating user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs for digital products.
- Understanding of human-centred design principles and the design process from discovery through to delivery.
- Ability to work effectively with product, technology, and business teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions and incorporate feedback.
- Experience using customer research, usability testing, and analytics to inform design decisions.
- Ability to identify user needs and translate insights into design improvements.
- Experience working with design systems and reusable UI components.
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Awareness of financial services, digital banking, or other regulated industries.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and customer trust considerations.
- Willingness to learn, seek feedback, and develop design skills.
- Interest in contributing to design best practice and team collaboration.

- Create best in class user experiences aligned to customer needs and optimal commercial and customer outcomes.
- Create products and journeys that meet customers informational, functional, and emotional needs.
- Conceptualise, design, and implement user-centric digital banking products and experiences.
- Ensure alignment with customer needs, industry best practices, and business objectives.
- Monitor the impact of design post-launch through relevant CX metrics.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into compelling user experiences.
- Communicate design rationale and advocate for user-centred design principles.
- Champion design principles within the organisation.
- Develop interactive prototypes and wireframes to visualise design concepts and validate solutions.
- Iterate designs based on feedback, technical and business changes, and user feedback.
- Evaluate technical feasibility, legal compliance, and potential risks associated with new product development and launch.
- Secure governance oversight and provide design assurance.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to gather insights into user behaviour, preferences, and pain points.
- Use findings to inform design decisions and enhance the overall user experience.
- Translate insights into commercial and customer outcomes.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and design tools within the fintech and banking industry.
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in product design processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Advise and influence decision making and contribute to policy development.
- Take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments.
- Identify the need for input from other areas of specialisation to complete assignments.
- Identify new directions for assignments and projects.
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to support resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies and procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls.
- Collaborate with other areas of work to support business activity and strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
