Technical Business Analyst, Engineering AI & Data

Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or a similar role
• Strong experience gathering, analysing, and documenting technical and functional requirements
• Awareness and interest in modern data analytics and AI technologies
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with delivery teams in Agile environments
• Exposure to system integrations, data flows, and enterprise platforms
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, modelling tools (UML/BPMN), and data or reporting tools such as SQL is desirable
• Eligibility for and successful obtaining of UK Security Check (SC) security clearance

Responsibilities:

• Work with business and technical stakeholders to develop strategies and governance that drive value from data using modern analytics and AI techniques
• Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and technical requirements
• Translate needs into technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Work with architects and developers to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
• Contribute to design discussions, assess feasibility, and identify risks and dependencies, including adoption or responsible AI frameworks
• Produce and maintain high-quality artefacts including functional and technical specifications, process flows, data models, and interface definitions
• Act as a key liaison between business and technical stakeholders, communicating complex technical concepts clearly and managing expectations
• Analyse data structures, mappings, and system interactions to support integrations, reporting, and solution design
• Define and support test scenarios and acceptance criteria, supporting UAT and defect resolution
• Investigate technical issues, work with delivery teams to identify root causes, and support sustainable solutions
