Software Testing Engineer

Requirements:

• Experience in end-to-end software testing at scale on large, complex programs.
• Python coding experience.
• Experience using HP, IBM ALM/ETM, Doors, and JIRA.
• Familiarity with SCRUM agile mindset and methodologies for software development.
• ISTQB software testing certifications.
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum.
• Understanding of software logs and data analysis.
• Understanding of CI/CD software pipelines.
• Experience in software verification and validation and understanding technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

• We are responsible for the end-to-end software testing and proving lifecycle for one or more WSSE products in a software simulation/emulation environment.
• We work from formal requirements and flexibly interpret customer needs to form a vision of how the software should behave.
• We understand design and architecture, including defining software test bed requirements.
• We develop comprehensive software test plans, designs, and specifications.
• We carry out regular progressive software testing assurance during software development cycles.
• We lead technical investigations into software defects and emergent behaviours.
• We support external software integration, trials, and demonstrations with engineering partners and customers.
• We conduct data analysis of logs to identify issues and demonstrate compliance to requirements.
• We execute formal software qualification testing.
• We provide regular updates to project leads and stakeholders on software functionality.
• We write detailed software test and analysis reports for certification purposes.
• We support the software delivery and release process, including final certification activities.

We are recruiting several Software Testing Engineers for an initial 6-month contract, with possible extension, based in Stevenage. The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and is offered via umbrella pay. We operate in a high-standard aviation and aerospace recruitment environment and work with some of the industrys best-known companies. Security clearance is required to start.
