Software Project Leader

Salary: £30,000 - 52,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced software leader who can make decisions for software development.
• We need someone with a strong ability to lead a team of software developers and communicate effectively with people at all levels across a range of mediums.
• We require strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• We need a good understanding of software and the software development process to provide effective management oversight.
• We require project management skills to ensure strong planning, delivery, and cost control of software developed in the team.
• It would be beneficial if you understand technologies used in real-time embedded software development.
• It would be beneficial if you understand SysML/UML and C, C++ or Ada languages.
• It would be beneficial if you have experience in a high-technology environment where the quality and accuracy of work is essential.
• It would be beneficial if you have awareness of standards such as DefStan 00-55 and DO178B/C.
• Applicants with significant, related software development experience will also be considered for development into the role.
• We require British citizenship or dual UK nationality with British citizenship, and successful candidates must undergo BPSS checks after the offer stage.

Responsibilities:

• We will lead a team of professional engineers who specialise in real-time software development.
• We will be responsible for the development and delivery of software for embedded missile systems on time, on cost, and on quality.
• We will work closely with multi-disciplined teams to ensure technical excellence in the software produced.
• We will ensure the application of software development plans throughout the development cycle.
• We will provide regular reports to demonstrate progress achieved.
• We will work with stakeholders at all levels and across different nationalities.
