Software Engineer III - Cloud/Java/Python/AI/ML
Job Description
Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements:- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with applied experience
- Experience in cloud development, particularly application design and development
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience building RESTful APIs and working with event-driven or serverless architectures
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack
- Proficiency with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake and Iceberg, and relational databases such as RDS or Oracle
- Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or equivalent
- Ability to use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance and AI-enabled development tools, validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
- Preferred: Experience with automation using scripting languages such as Python or Groovy
- Preferred: Exposure to web development frameworks such as React or Angular
- Preferred: Relevant cloud developer certification, such as AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer, or Google Professional Cloud Developer
- Preferred: Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-native databases
- Design, develop, and implement cloud-based applications and services
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to align design solutions with business goals
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issue remediation and improve software and systems stability
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Keep up to date with emerging cloud and AI/ML technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Lead Software Engineering communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity on complex deliverables, and contribute learnings and reusable patterns to the team
- Apply knowledge of software development lifecycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation
