Job Description

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • We require 2 to 4 years of professional software development experience.
  • We require proficiency using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude as part of daily development, with disciplined review and validation of generated code.
  • We require strong object-oriented programming skills in C++, including modern C++ practices and proficiency with the C++ Standard Library (STL).
  • We require solid software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
  • We require strong programming, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • We require working knowledge of CAD/CAM concepts, computational geometry, or geometric modelling, or equivalent experience building geometry-heavy or mathematically intensive software.
  • We require experience with source control and project management tools such as Git and Jira.
  • We require excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • We prefer experience developing CAD and/or CAM desktop applications.
  • We prefer hands-on experience with computational geometry, geometric modelling, or computer graphics.
  • We prefer cross-platform application development experience across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • We prefer experience designing and developing APIs and SDKs.
  • We prefer familiarity with Qt, CMake, and Python.
Responsibilities:
  • We use AI-assisted tools for planning, implementation, refactoring, debugging, test generation, and documentation, always validating output for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • We apply AI effectively in troubleshooting and code review, knowing when AI accelerates work and when deeper manual analysis is required.
  • We share effective AI-assisted workflows with teammates and help raise team standards for responsible use.
  • We design and implement scalable, maintainable features using object-oriented C++ with clear abstractions, encapsulation, inheritance, and sound use of design patterns.
  • We write, test, review, and maintain high-quality code across the full software development lifecycle.
  • We take ownership of features or components from design and implementation through deployment and support.
  • We troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
  • We create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and implementation details.
  • We develop and optimise production-grade capabilities across CAD, including parametric modelling, geometry, and design workflows.
  • We apply computational geometry and geometric modelling principles to robust, performance-sensitive desktop software.
  • We collaborate with Product Management, Experience Design, and Quality Assurance to deliver customer-facing Fusion capabilities.
  • We work effectively within distributed global teams and participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, estimation, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • We expand technical breadth across adjacent domains and technologies while deepening expertise in core team areas.
  • We contribute to a culture of collaboration, code quality, and continuous learning.
