Software Developer

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• Commercial experience developing software in C++ (approximately 18 months or more)
• Strong Linux development experience
• Experience debugging software and working with tools such as Valgrind
• Good understanding of networking concepts and analysing network traffic and protocols
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript
• Experience using Docker
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Experience using Git for version control
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent commercial experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• A proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement
• Willingness to travel when required
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security, quality and professionalism

Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing and maintaining high-performance C++ applications for Linux environments
• Producing clean, maintainable and well-tested code with a focus on performance and reliability
• Using static analysis, profiling and debugging tools to improve software quality
• Investigating and resolving software defects, including third-party library and dependency issues
• Containerising applications using Docker
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions that meet customer requirements
• Participating in code reviews and following engineering best practices
• Using Git-based version control platforms to support collaborative development
