Senior Security Engineer

Salary: £80,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require at least 5 years of security team leadership and project management experience.
• We require good working knowledge and experience managing the majority of the following technologies: CrowdStrike EDR, Mimecast Mail Security Gateway, Duo, Okta, Rapid7 IVM, Tenable IO or Nessus, Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama, InTune and Conditional Access, Entra ID, Purview, Defender, Active Directory, DNS, and GPO.
• Experience with the following technologies would be advantageous: Cisco Secure Access, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco ASA, Digicert Certificates and Microsoft Certificate Services, Ivanti patching, Kali Linux tools such as NMAP, Metasploit, BurpSuite, and John, and Microsoft Purview.
• We would value CISM, CISSP, OSCP, or other penetration testing qualifications.
• Experience in financial services, SOC, or pentesting is desirable.
• We need excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• We require the ability to handle multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously.
• We require clear and precise verbal and written communication.
• We require the ability to deliver presentations to staff.
• We require strong cross-functional influence, engagement, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

• We will implement and maintain robust security systems and protocols across our IT infrastructure.
• We will conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans.
• We will identify and remediate vulnerabilities found through penetration testing.
• We will implement preventative measures to protect against cyber threats.
• We will monitor our security infrastructure and detect and respond to potential threats.
• We will manage the Secure Web Gateway.
• We will manage the Email Security Gateway.
• We will manage perimeter and VPN firewalls.
• We will manage MFA and SSO.
• We will manage MDM/MAM and Conditional Access.
• We will manage security certificates and keys.
• We will deliver Cyber Security Awareness Training.
• We will mentor and develop the IT security engineer.
• We will collaborate with the IT team to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

We are a 3-person IT Security team, and this Senior Security Engineer role reports to our IT Security Officer. The position is usually based in our London Head Office in High Holborn. Our team works a shift pattern to ensure cover from 07:30 to 16:30 with two days working from home, and 08:30 to 17:30 with three days working in the office. There will also be periods of weekend and out-of-hours work.
