Senior Java Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial experience developing Java applications
• Strong backend Java development experience with Spring and Spring Boot
• Proven experience delivering complex software projects
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices
• Exposure to Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with technical teams and stakeholders
• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers is highly desirable
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Eligibility to obtain SC Clearance, including a minimum of 5 years continuous UK residency with no absences of more than 30 consecutive days

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain enterprise Java applications
• Design and build scalable backend services and microservices
• Work closely with developers, architects, and testers throughout project delivery
• Follow Agile development practices and contribute to sprint planning and technical discussions
• Promote best practices including clean code, CI/CD, and modern development workflows
• Support and mentor junior developers while contributing to the teams technical direction
