Senior Frontend Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require proven, demonstrable hands-on experience building production applications with TypeScript using Svelte or React.
• We require a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• We require a deep understanding of modern frontend architecture, component design patterns, and state management.
• We require strong web fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, browser APIs, performance, and accessibility.
• We require experience consuming and integrating REST APIs and real-time data into frontend interfaces.
• We require familiarity with frontend build tooling such as Vite, SvelteKit, or similar, and testing frameworks.
• Preferred: experience writing automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Preferred: familiarity with Python backend services, enough to read, debug, and contribute to the APIs we consume.
• Preferred: knowledge of design systems and frontend architecture best practices.

Responsibilities:

• We own the frontend experience of our AI-driven products and collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers to bring advanced capabilities to life through polished, high-performance interfaces.
• We design, build, and maintain rich, interactive user interfaces using Svelte and React with TypeScript.
• We collaborate with product managers, ML engineers, and backend engineers to define and ship high-impact frontend features end-to-end.
• We translate complex AI and engineering outputs into clear, interactive, and highly usable components with strong attention to UX, performance, and accessibility.
• We own frontend architecture decisions, including state management, component design, and design system development.
• We drive technical excellence by improving frontend architecture, performance, and bundle optimisation.
• We take ownership of frontend features from concept to deployment, influencing product direction, interaction design, and technical trade-offs.
• We build high-performance, interactive 2D and 3D web experiences for complex engineering visualisations.
