Security Operations Engineer

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• Solid security operations experience in security engineering, application security, or platform security
• Strong knowledge of GCP, including IAM, service accounts, logging, and organization policy; familiarity with AWS and Azure is helpful
• Ability to read code well enough to assess whether a SAST finding is valid
• Fluency with AI tooling and experience building with it
• Clear writing skills, particularly when communicating decisions others need to act on
• Comfort making and explaining security decisions, including saying no with a reason or approving with conditions
• Willingness to own a function rather than simply work through a queue

Responsibilities:

• Own day-to-day security operations, including vulnerability management, connector and MCP approvals, threat model reviews, and incident support
• Run and extend our SecOps AI agents, which handle Mend triage, MCP assessment, documentation review, and incident scribing
• Make security decisions escalated by the agents, setting clear conditions rather than applying blanket blocks
• Drive vulnerability remediation with our development and platform teams, escalating when fixes stall
• Maintain visibility of security posture across GCP projects, as well as AWS and Azure, and partner with SEP2, our external MDR provider
