QA Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require the ability to obtain UK SC Clearance, which requires a minimum of 5 years of UK residence.

• We are looking for someone with a technical interest or first experience in a technical or software environment.

Responsibilities:

• We attend specification and architecture reviews, including customer specification reviews when applicable, and provide feedback on potential impact, risks, issues, or gaps.
• We define test strategy and test plans, including functional and non-functional test cases, and ensure traceability with specifications and customer requirements.
• We ensure our test strategy complies with CI/CD guidelines, Green IT guidelines, quality guidelines, and QA best practices and standards.
• We design test cases, write test case scripts, prepare test environments and test data, and execute test cases.
• We provide sign-off decisions on tested features based on defined exit criteria.
• We continuously assess whether to add, update, or remove test cases from regression and CI/CD pipelines as new product features are delivered and based on metrics.
• We investigate PTRs during maintenance activities, test fixes, and enrich test suites accordingly.
• We assess whether test scripts should be automated, use our test automation framework, and contribute to improving it.
• We open defects for software or documentation issues, assign severity, provide investigation details, and support defect resolution.
• We check defect fixes and give go/no-go decisions for the load of production defects.
• We report and communicate test activities to the line organization, software developers, and product definition analysts.
• We provide visibility on testing campaigns and milestones to stakeholders.
• We provide mentoring and adapted support to newcomers and peers.
• We share knowledge on technical or functional topics across the QA community and with other stakeholders.
• We act as a quality assurance ambassador by taking accountability for project, product, or release quality control and promoting QA best practices.
• We use QA tooling stacks and frameworks efficiently and contribute improvements or new developments where needed.
• We proactively address issues or changes that may affect the daily work of QA peers.
• We drive proposals to improve quality processes within an evolving development lifecycle framework.
• We participate in understanding, measuring, and reducing the environmental impact of tested applications and associated QA activities.
