Operational Cyber Software Engineer

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one core language such as C++, Java or C#
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, PowerShell or similar scripting languages
• Understanding of secure software development and software engineering best practices
• Experience with testing, CI/CD and version control tools
• Ability to work across Linux and Windows environments
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
• Current DV clearance, or eligibility and willingness to undergo DV clearance

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop secure software using modern engineering practices
• Build robust, high-assurance solutions across complex operational environments
• Work with Agile teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities
• Conduct peer reviews and contribute to technical leadership across projects
• Identify security risks during design and implementation, ensuring secure-by-design principles are embedded throughout development
• Explore new technologies and apply them to challenging cyber problems

This is an on-site role working on highly classified programmes that develop mission-critical capabilities supporting the UKs national security. You will join a multidisciplinary team tackling complex technical challenges across software engineering, cyber and secure systems development. We offer a competitive package including a £60,000-£85,000 base salary, company bonus, DV bonus, pension and medical coverage.
