Mainframe Automation & Batch Scheduling Analyst

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)
• Strong experience with REXX scripting and automation
• Proficiency in CLIST programming
• Solid experience managing enterprise batch scheduling environments such as IWS, TWS, or OPC
• In-depth knowledge of JCL and batch processing
• Familiarity with z/OS, TSO/ISPF, and core mainframe utilities
• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving batch and scheduling issues

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of automation, workload scheduling, and batch processing activities within a mainframe environment
• Design, manage, and optimise complex batch workflows using IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)
• Develop scripts and manage job schedules to support smooth and reliable operations
• Resolve batch and scheduling issues to maintain system stability and minimise disruption
• Ensure critical processes run on time and data is handled accurately
• Help minimise operational risks across large-scale, business-critical systems

This is a hands-on technical role based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, with a hybrid arrangement of 2 days onsite per week.
