Lead Java Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in Java
• Experience in Spring
• Experience in platform integration
• Experience in Kubernetes
• Ideally experience in React front-end development
• Ability to work through technical challenges and drive out solutions
• Ability to lead others and help them understand and develop solutions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Architects, QA Leads, Engagement Managers, and a wider engineering team
• Experience creating low level design (LLD) for a service or services
• Ability to lead the technical development and delivery of a service or services

Responsibilities:

• Join our rapidly growing Modernisation Programme as a Lead Engineer
• Work with Architects, QA Leads, Engagement Managers, and later a full engineering team
• Create low level designs for services, building on architectural design work
• Use the LLD as the main input into formal impact assessment and backlog creation for the build phase
• Lead the technical development and delivery of service or services after the design phase
• Adopt shared and common components built within our wider modernisation programme
• Drive ways of working in line with our engineering principles
• Assure the quality of work within the team
• Contribute as part of our community of Lead Engineers and wider engineering community

We are Tax Admin, and we are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our rapidly growing Modernisation Programme. This is a 6-month contract role based in Telford, with 2 days per week in the office. The role is inside IR35 and requires BPSS clearance. We offer the opportunity to work within a collaborative engineering community, alongside Architects, QA Leads, Engagement Managers, and a full delivery team as the programme moves into build.
