Lead DevOps Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £80,000 - 90,000 per year
Requirements:- Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
- Extensive experience delivering DevOps and platform engineering solutions within AWS environments.
- Strong expertise across AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda and ECS/EKS.
- Significant Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
- Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience within production environments.
- Scripting experience using Python and/or Bash.
- Strong understanding of Git and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Lead the design and implementation of AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
- Define cloud platform standards, architecture principles and best practices.
- Build secure, resilient and scalable cloud-native environments.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption and platform automation initiatives.
- Lead the development and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines across multiple teams.
- Improve platform observability through monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
- Oversee Kubernetes and Docker-based platform implementations.
- Ensure environments meet security, governance and operational compliance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to DevOps engineers.
- Contribute to cloud strategy, architecture discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
