Junior Frontend Developer

Salary: £26,500 - 32,000 per year

Requirements:

• HTML and CSS
• JavaScript
• Some exposure to React, whether commercial, academic, or through personal projects
• Version control experience, such as Git or Bitbucket
• Evidence of our own work, such as a portfolio, GitHub profile, coursework, or personal project
• Degree, HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent in a technical subject such as computer science or software engineering, or demonstrable self-taught ability
• TypeScript knowledge is desirable
• Experience with a component library or design system is desirable
• Experience with charting or data visualisation libraries, such as Recharts, D3, or Chart.js, is desirable
• Experience with unit testing frameworks, such as Jest, Vitest, or React Testing Library, is desirable
• Experience consuming REST APIs is desirable
• Interest in the maritime, offshore renewables, or industrial IoT sectors is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain user interfaces in React and TypeScript
• Present vessel data, KPIs, trends, and alerts in dashboards that make sense to mariners and fleet operators
• Build responsive, accessible components that work reliably on shore and at sea
• Write unit tests and take part in peer code reviews, with support from senior developers
• Work as part of a wider development team spanning cloud, edge, and applied systems
• Learn and grow through structured mentorship
