Java Developer - Assistant Vice President
Job Description
Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with an open, inquisitive mind and a readiness to learn.
- We need a competent Java developer who drives with tests and writes clean, testable code.
- We require strong core Java knowledge and experience building applications using Spring Boot.
- We expect experience working with build tools such as Gradle.
- We need comfort working with Linux and familiarity with standard developer tooling such as Git, Bitbucket/GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
- We require knowledge of build pipelines, CI/CD, and the path to production.
- Desirable: working knowledge of application containerisation and deploying applications on cloud platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, or GCP using Docker or Podman.
- Desirable: experience with relational databases such as Oracle.
- We develop tooling for our global developer community using Java and Spring Boot microservices on Linux and OpenShift.
- We build APIs to integrate with other systems across the bank using industry best practices.
- We work across the full software development lifecycle, from design and architecture through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- We act as trusted consultants and partners to developers worldwide, providing expert guidance and supporting onboarding.
- We serve as subject matter experts for senior stakeholders and team members.
- We role model engineering excellence and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
